2nd Annual Foundry Adult Hockey Championship
After an incredible inaugural event, the Foundry Adult Hockey Championship is back for year two - and we're making the weekend even bigger.
Join us May 14-16, 2027 at Printscape Arena for a championship weekend built around more than just games. The Foundry Adult Hockey Championship brings teams together for three days of competitive hockey, camaraderie and everything that makes a hockey road trip memorable.
Last year set the tone. Teams hit the ice, competed for championships and helped launch a new Foundry tradition. In 2027, we're building on that success and inviting even more teams to experience a weekend where hockey is only part of the story.

As a reminder, this event is a Stay to Play Event. All teams are to utilize official event hotels. Please use the official hotel information when it becomes available to secure your team block.
Please make sure to designate the number of rooms needed each night when creating the block. You will then receive a confirmation email containing the booking information to forward to team families so they may make their individual reservations.
All hotels are convenient to the arena. Please make sure families only book through the official link provided. Families are not to contact the hotel directly to book rooms for the event.

Taking place January 2–3, 2027, this New Year’s weekend event is centered at BIGGBY® COFFEE Ice Cube Ann Arbor and Brighton, MI, bringing together teams from across the Great Lakes region for a high-energy return to competition after winter break.
BIGGBY® CUP features two distinct championship events designed for different stages of youth hockey development—giving every team a unique, competitive, and memorable tournament experience while setting a new standard for New Year's hockey in the Midwest. For our 7U and 8U players, the Big Ice Challenge introduces young players to full-ice tournament hockey, giving them the opportunity to experience full-ice hockey in a true tournament atmosphere and championship environment. For our 9U-12U teams, the Winter Face-Off is designed for A and AA birth-year teams looking for competitive games against organizations they don't normally face, with Open birth-year divisions providing opportunities to compete against teams from outside their normal league schedule.
More than just another tournament, this destination event combines strong competition with an unforgettable family getaway in the heart of Michigan, where teams can enjoy the vibrant downtowns of Ann Arbor and Brighton, outstanding restaurants, shopping, and seasonal attractions. Powered by BIGGBY® COFFEE, the weekend is designed to wake up the last half of the season, bringing teams back to the ice for the perfect blend of competitive hockey, unforgettable experiences, and a fresh start to the winter hockey calendar. - Saturday - Two Pool Play Games
- Sunday - Teams are seeded into championship brackets based on Saturday results
Divisional allocation is based on USA Hockey roster/age group classification for the upcoming season. However, the tournament operations staff may adjust placements to fit individual team competitiveness on a case-by-case basis.
Tournament game schedule will be released 7-10 days prior to the event start date.
Teams must arrive and be available in the local area by the day before the tournament begins and be prepared to play at 7:00 AM local time on the first day of the tournament. Departure should be scheduled on or after the final tournament day, with final games expected to finish by roughly 6:00 PM local time.

The Atlantic Hockey Federation Chi-Town Showcase heads to the Chicago area January 16–18, 2027, bringing AHF teams together for a weekend built around fresh competition, new challenges, and high-level hockey.
Hosted by the Atlantic Hockey Federation and operated by Defender Hockey Tournaments, the Chi-Town Showcase gives AHF member teams the opportunity to step outside their regular-season schedule and test themselves against opponents they may not otherwise see.
Four games. New matchups. A whole new challenge.
Select guest teams from across the country will join the field, adding even more variety to a weekend designed to push teams outside their comfort zones. Different opponents mean different styles, different challenges, and new opportunities for players and teams to compete, adapt, and develop.
And there may be no better backdrop for it than Chicago.
Between games, teams and families can experience one of America's great sports cities—from Navy Pier and Millennium Park to the Magnificent Mile, world-class museums, local restaurants, and, of course, Chicago's legendary deep-dish pizza.

SHOWCASE FORMAT
The Chi-Town Showcase is built to give teams four competitive games against fresh opponents, creating matchups that extend beyond the traditional AHF regular-season schedule.
AHF member teams will be joined by select guest programs from across the country, giving players the opportunity to experience different styles of play, adapt to new competition, and challenge themselves in a true showcase environment.
This weekend isn't about playing the same teams again.
It's about seeing how your game stacks up against something new.

The Defender President’s Cup takes over Patriot Ice Center and Ice World February 13–15, 2027, bringing 10U–14U A and B teams together for three days of competitive hockey and a holiday weekend built around the pursuit of a championship.
From the opening faceoff, there’s one objective: earn the Cup.
With a three-game minimum, competitive matchups, and division championships on the line, every game is an opportunity to take control of the weekend. Teams will be tested. Big moments will demand big plays. And by the final horn, only a select few will leave Delaware as President’s Cup champions.
No titles are given. They’re earned.

The Defender Mite Madness Tournament returns to York Ice Arena January 30–31, 2027, bringing Tier II 8U A, B, and C teams together for two action-packed days dedicated to the youngest stars in the game.

The Defender Mite Winter Classic takes over Palmer Imaging Arena January 23–24, 2027, bringing Tier II 8U A, B, and C teams together for two days dedicated to the next generation of hockey.
Built exclusively for Mite players, the Winter Classic gives young athletes the chance to compete, develop, and experience all the excitement of a Defender tournament weekend. With a three-game minimum, competitive matchups, and championships on the line, this is their opportunity to take center stage.
Because at 8U, hockey is about more than wins and losses.
It’s the excitement before the puck drops. The first big goal. The stick taps after a great save. Celebrating with teammates. And the moments players will still be talking about on the ride home.

BLIZZARD CUP
THE STORM IS COMING.
This isn’t just another tournament weekend. This is the big one.
The Defender Blizzard Cup takes over MLK Weekend January 16–18, 2027, bringing more than 130 teams together for Defender’s largest and most electrifying event of the Fall/Winter season.
Across Igloo Ice Rink, Northeast Skate Zone, Grundy Ice Arena, and Jersey Shore Arena, the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey region becomes the center of the action for three days of nonstop tournament hockey.
From 8U through 18U, teams across multiple levels will hit the ice for four guaranteed games, competitive matchups, and the chance to survive the weekend with a Blizzard Cup championship.
With more teams, more games, and more championship moments than any other Defender Fall/Winter event, the Blizzard Cup delivers a tournament atmosphere that feels different from the moment you walk into the rink.

And when the games stop, the weekend doesn't. Teams and families can explore everything the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey region has to offer, from dining and shopping to local attractions, the Jersey Shore, and Philadelphia destinations.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The Blizzard Cup features round-robin play followed by playoffs, with each team guaranteed a minimum of four games.
Teams may play one or more round-robin games on Day 1 and Day 2, followed by consolation, semifinal, and/or championship games on the final day. Semifinal rounds and consolation games are not guaranteed.
Divisions are initially organized according to USA Hockey roster and age-group classifications for the upcoming season. Defender tournament operations may adjust placements on a case-by-case basis to create the most competitive matchups possible.
8U/Mite Divisions: All Mite-level tournament games will be played using either a half-ice or cross-ice format.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Schedule Release: Tournament schedules are expected to be released approximately 7–10 days before puck drop.
Teams should plan to arrive in the local area by the day before the tournament begins and must be prepared for games beginning as early as 7:00 AM on the first day.
Departure should be planned for after the final tournament day. Final games are expected to conclude by approximately 5:00 PM local time.
Travel Planning Notice: Tournament schedules may require adjustments leading up to the event. Teams and families are strongly encouraged to make refundable or flexible travel arrangements and avoid making non-refundable plans based solely on the initial tournament schedule.
